Top 6 Free Marketing Analytic Tools For Your Website
There are several tools out there to track your website analytics and help improve your website, but what are the best free marketing analytic tools out there? We’ll cover some of our favorite website analytic tools that you need to be using to help with tracking all your website data.
Most of these tools will be completely free, but we will also cover some that have free versions but are more than capable of giving you the information that you need. Their upgraded versions allow for no restrictions, but are not necessary in order to use their tools. So let’s dive into our top free website analytic tools.
Google Search Console
As this is one of Google’s own tools, this will be one of the best resources out there and it’s completely free. Google Search Console is one of our favorites and it allows you to dive into your websites analytics, looking up different information like search queries, specific pages, impressions, clicks, and more. If you haven’t connected your site yet, here’s how to set up Google Search Console the right way in about five minutes.
As with most of these tools, they can be a little overwhelming or seem like there is a lot of information but we like to keep a rather high-level approach with them to see if we are trending upwards or downwards. We do also dive into the weeds to see how we can improve, but staying high-level gives you a great overview of how your website is currently doing.
Where you will most likely spend most of your time is in the performance tab, where you will be able to view your website clicks, impressions, average CTR, and average position. See the image below (Average CTR & Average Position aren’t selected).

Google Analytics
In my opinion, Google Analytics is a great tool but can get quite a bit more complicated than Google Search Console. The amount of customization, reports, and different analytics you can view within can make it a bit overwhelming. However, if you are looking at the top level and just getting a brief overview, it can be a great tool.
For the more experienced users or if you want to set up other tracking metrics and dive deep into learning about the platform, it can truly take your website to the next level. Some different metrics and analytics that you are able to dive into include:
- Countries
- Cities
- Sessions and their source
- Page views
- Website engagement
- Conversions
- Funnel exploration
- Path exploration
- And much more!

Ahrefs
If you are looking for comprehensive SEO information for your website, this is a great start. Ahrefs offers a range of features to help optimize your online presence, improve search engine rankings, and drive more organic traffic to your website.
Ahrefs is a good platform to use to see how your website health is doing, discover your backlinks, organic traffic, and organic keywords. Using the free version limits you quite significantly on all the features that you are able to use with it, but is still a great tool to get a good overarching view of how your website is doing and areas that you can capitalize on.

Ubersuggests
Ubersuggests is also similar to Ahrefs, especially while using the free version. Your capabilities are rather limited when using as you will only get three searches per day. You are able to input a website URL or keyword and it will spit out ideas and ranking keywords for you. This is a great way for you to learn about keywords and what you can include in your website pages.

HubSpot
HubSpot is not only a great tool for free, but it’s also a whole CRM packed into one. As with all other free trial tools, you are missing out on the bulk of their offerings and tools. HubSpot has all the tools necessary to track your website analytics, house all of your contacts, create different dashboards for analytics, send emails, create forms, and much more!
Even if you are rolling with the free version, there is more than enough to get by, but if you opt-in for their paid versions, you’ll be able to realize even more benefits and features.

SEMrush
SEMrush is a competitor and very similar to both Ubersuggests and Ahrefs. You will be limited to the amount that you are able to do on the free version but still offers a great resource to do some keyword research, search different URLs, and much more.

Which Free Analytic Tool Is Right For You?
There are so many different website tools out there that you can use. Your website hosting platform might even have free analytics that you can use. What we would say is just pick a few and become great within that platform. Know and understand the nuances within the platform. Don’t overwhelm yourself and get stuck in paralysis analysis and not choose any.
However, with that being said, I would strongly recommend Google Search Console to be one of the platforms that you use and get comfortable with. There is just so much great information that it offers, all for free, and how you can improve your website’s ranking and keywords, seeing specifically what people are searching in Google.
